That will cost you 1-3 years of learning on the job The easier way is to get trained by someone who has been through what you’re aspiring to do. How much capital do I need to start a home staging business? You can start with NO CAPITAL, using your skills and talent to earn money. One business model requiring no money to start is CONSULTATIONS, where you teach clients how to use what they already own to stage without bringing in any inventory. Do I need to rent a warehouse and carry my own inventory? There are different business models that do not require you to carry any inventory or invest any money I chose the vacant staging model and decided to carry my own furnishing which means we are renting a warehouse to store the inventory. Furniture rental is an option for the vacant staging business model, but you will need to buy all the decorative accessories that you can rent out as part of your services. You can start with zero capital using your brain and talent to earn money in different ways. One of those models is the occupied staging where you use whatever the client has to stage their home. Or consultations only, where you tell clients how to use what they have You may also offer seasonal staging, the holidays are around the corner, E Design, Home Makeovers, personal shopper, You do not need money to start any of these VACANT STAGING requires more capital; you may need to buy furniture and rent a storage space or warehouse to store your staging inventory. You can start with a house worth of furniture and buy more as you get more business. Furniture rental is an option for the vacant staging business model, but you will need to buy all the decorative accessories you can rent to the client as part of your services. Your initial startup investment can be as low as $5,000 to procure small furnishing, decorative accessories, professional website setup, and initial marketing.  You may be able to carve out temporary storage for the decorative items in your home, so you don't have to pay for storage until you start making money.
